The Electoral College (538 members) functions basically to elect the president and the vice-president of the United States of America. Every state has its own electors for the Electoral College; the number of members based on the number of representatives and senators they have in Congress (at least 3). These electors earn their tickets to the Electoral College through the votes that the people cast when they elect a representative for themselves. Each of these electoral then votes at the Electoral College level and based on whichever candidate has the majority of these votes (at least 270), the candidate wins the election.
